Even if you don’t consider yourself “spiritual” at all, I believe that you are a channeler as much as I am, and have your own intuitive wisdom. I am merely trained in helping you tap into that and pull it into your conscious awareness through the archetypal symbols of the tarot. I consider this working in co-creation with Spirit, but you may have another name for it – perhaps a specific deity, or maybe you have a more secular sense of general wonder. Whatever you call it, to me it’s all the same thing, and tarot is here to facilitate its voice.
I also believe that this means tarot is your friend. As Lindsay Mack says, there are no “bad” cards – not even The Tower, Death, or The Devil! They may stir up some confronting feelings, but it’s all just information. Spirit wants to work with you to help you live in alignment with your highest and best self, it’s not out to get you.
Readings
When you book a reading with me, we’ll have a little back and forth communication first about what you have in mind and when you’d like to meet. If you already know what you’d like to explore and can tell me your question in advance, that will give me some time to consider and clarify if needed, and check in with Spirit about how best to help you. But we can also do that part when we get together.
If you’re unsure how to frame your question, please just let me know whatever you’re thinking. I may ask a few clarifying questions of you to help get it into a format that would be most useful. Some guidelines on the types of questions that work best:
Ask for something more complex than a simple yes/no answer. Is there maybe a why to be considered? A how? Maybe you just need a gut check on where you are in a situation?
Center your question on you – not on someone else’s feelings or actions (they aren’t there to consent to the experience.) Wondering about a relationship? Ask something about your own feelings, the role you’re playing within the relationship, or what Spirit would have you know about your participation in it so far.
Focus on the now. I don’t use tarot for divination or fortune-telling, as some readers do (and more power to them! It’s just not my style.) Worried about the future? Ask something about that worry – what lesson does your fear have to teach you? What might you be missing right now as you make plans for later? Is there actually something from the past clamoring for your attention? How can you find a sense of calm as you face the unknown to come?
Remember, the more information you give me, the deeper we can go with this. Otherwise, I will ask a very general question, such as “what would Spirit have you know right now?” – but understand that the answer you’ll get will be general too. Sometimes that’s also interesting though!
I have several different tarot decks of various styles (all rooted in the 78-card Smith-Rider-Waite lineage) and will choose the one from my collection that I feel is best suited to your question. If you’d prefer the traditional Smith-Rider-Waite deck or a specific one that I might have, just let me know. I also sometimes work with oracle decks, but these are much more varied and I don’t feel as connected to them as I do with the tarot. But if you’d like to explore one with me, we can certainly try – sometimes even combining the two can offer special kinds of insights!
Whichever deck I’m working with, I generally keep all the cards upright. This doesn’t mean that I don’t “read reversals” though – I simply find their reversed presentation more aesthetically jarring and that distracts from the reading for me. But we’ll consider their meaning in a holistic way that will include its reversed or “shadow” side in relation to your context.
I’ll pull your cards and spend a little time channeling what they have to say, then I’ll share my thoughts in whichever format we’ve arranged. Be prepared for your reading to present more questions, clarifying information, and new things to consider than definitive answers, but hopefully it will help guide you toward the understanding you’re seeking.
Introverts: I’m happy to just do a one-sided video recording, audio-only call, or even just messenger exchange instead of zoom if you like. I’m an ambivert, I get it.
Disclaimers
I’m not a medical or mental health professional, nor can I offer legal or financial advice, and will not assume liability for any decisions you might make as a result of your reading. Remember, this is ultimately about empowering your intuitive wisdom, and it’s up to you how you act on that. Also, I prefer to work with adults, 18 years old or up. I might consider doing a reading for someone younger with a parent or guardian’s permission, but we’ll have to discuss terms in detail first. I reserve the right to terminate any reading that does not feel appropriate to me, in which case a full refund will be offered.
Questions about my approach? Just ask!
